I have chosen for a simple track layout with only 1 level. The dimensions of the layout are 15ft x 3.5ft. The main reason for a simple layout is to enable the possibility for me to finalize things in a reasonable timeframe. Time is my challange as it is for every modelrailroader. Off course simplification also brings limitations, for example I have chosen not to build a factory yard nor fiddle yard. The layout will be equiped with digital signals as well as an electrical overhead system on all tracks.
The following situations can be played:
- full automation of the trains, turnouts and signals
- manual operation
- combination of manual and automated operation
- automatic reversing train
- driving 3 or 4 trains simultainiously
- automatic control of lights for stations and houses
- connection of an external CTC for manual control of the station tracks
- automatic control of railcrossings
The track is build with Marklin C-track system, the addresses of the new marklin 76xxx main signals (h) and the distance signals (v) are included in the above track layout picture.
